Efficiency. Simplicity.

ScriptScreenStudio sur Mac, iPhone et iPad.
ScriptScreenStudio on all three Apple devices, the interface can still evolve. Release scheduled for the first quarter of 2027.

Everything in One Place

In ScriptScreenStudio, from writing through to breakdowns, shot breakdowns, budgeting, and finally call sheets—everything is done in one place. No need to leave the app; no need to convert your files.

Offline but Synchronized

However, you can sync your scripts with third-party services like Dropbox, iCloud and Google Drive as well as across all your devices.

No Ongoing Subscription... and a Truly one-time Payment

The next update is included, as is the one after that, and the one after that, too. I make movies first and foremost. It's quite unlikely that I'll undertake a complete rewrite of the entire source code. So there's no need to purchase a new license.

Beyond ScriptScreenStudio

An app for creativity. Some resources to help you see the bigger picture.

New to filmmaking? Not sure where to start? Want to learn new techniques or elevate your skills?

ScriptScreenStudio Features

In addition to this editor, a suite of tools dedicated to production preparation rounds out the application, including:

A location manager

Linked to the budget (when a location's daily rate is known) and also to call sheets (for addresses and the nearest hospitals)

The manager provides you with an overview of your locations

A character manager

Also linked to the budget, this tool allows you to create comprehensive character profiles: biographies, complete physical descriptions, family trees.

This is designed to make your work easier before auditions.

The Production Schedule Editor

The production schedule works in tandem with the call sheet creator. It ensures you do not exceed the defined number of days. It also alerts you if the number of shooting days is too short given the number of scenes to be shot.

Script Breakdown

Serving as a portal to all the preparation modules, the Script Breakdown module identifies all the resources needed to produce the film.

Automated, it saves you time without completely replacing you.

Shot Breakdown

Based on the lineage method, this module unifies and consolidates your work.

That's not all! The Continuity lets you transform your Shot List into a Shooting Schedule to ensure the continuity during the shooting of your movie.

Budget...

A film costs money. This app wouldn't be complete without its budgeting module.

The current limitation? The inability to mark budget lines as completed once they've been paid for. However, ScriptScreenStudio is not an accounting app.

About ScriptScreenStudio

… and its author.

So, I decided to resume development of my app for this very reason. It was no longer acceptable to me to keep converting files, entering my credit card information everywhere, and spending hundreds of euros a year.

Thanks to ScriptScreenStudio, everything is done in one place, with a single payment—the price of which may change, but the pricing policy will not.

If you're a small structure, just starting out, or short on time, perhaps—I hope—this software can help you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my data secure?

I can’t say for sure. I don’t have access to your scripts, your characters, or any elements of your productions. It’s therefore up to you to make the necessary backups to secure your projects.

ScriptScreenStudio does, however, include several security systems (not accessible to the user) that help secure your project during work sessions.

So my data isn't sold?

Your data isn't even stored. I can't sell it.

The only data about you that I receive is what you provide when you send a debug report or an email requesting support.

Why is the app not free?

ScriptScreenStudio is a paid app because the Apple Developer account isn’t free, and publishing—and maintaining—the app on the App Store comes at a cost.

If it’s free, you’re the product, is 100% true. I would have had to sell some of your data or include a ton of ads to offset the cost of offering the app for free.

Not to mention the development time, which is significant for an app with so many features.

Is there AI in ScriptScreenStudio?

There’s no artificial intelligence in ScriptScreenStudio—not out of any particular aversion to it. AI is just very expensive, and that inevitably leads to data transfer.

All the (proprietary) algorithms in the app provide their analysis based on statistics from your script—calculated internally on your device.

Some apps are open source; why not ScriptScreenStudio?

I’ve thought about it for a long time, and, strictly speaking, I’m still considering it. However, one of the app’s algorithms is based on my own screenplays—only the best ones 😉—and my personal research.

Not only is this feature still under active development, but open-sourcing such a resource would be a mistake at this stage of development.

What does ScriptScreenStudio have that other apps don’t?

Probably nothing?

Or, if there’s one thing that sets it apart, it would be the pricing policy: a one-time payment for a lifetime license.

It sounds too good to be true, but I use this app too, so I might as well keep it up to date for all of us.

I want to switch to different software—will I lose my data?

Well, it pains me to admit it, but given all its features: yes, you’ll lose SOME data.

Don’t worry—your script remains intact. Saved in .fountainformat, you can import it into a whole range of software without conversion.

However, your characters, settings, budget lines, storyboards, technical breakdowns—anything that wasn’t exported as a PDF—is lost. It’s incompatible with all other software.

I don’t have a lot of resources—do you offer any promotions?

If you’re part of a school or university, ask your professors to set up a partnership. Since I’m working solo, I’m afraid that eventually, I won’t be able to keep up with the high volume of requests.

Until I achieve future success, yes, students, artists facing financial hardship, companies with multiple licenses, etc., are welcome to use the contact form.
